Emanuela Frigerio is a Partner of the firm. Her responsibilities
include
the oversight of graphic design programs for cultural institutions,
print programs and corporate identities. She has over twenty years
of professional experience in graphic design, illustration, and
three-dimensional design, and has established an exceptional international
reputation in England, Italy and Japan.
From 1983 she was employed as a Junior Graphic Designer by Conran
Associates in London. In this capacity she was engaged in many
team projects. From 1985-1988 Ms. Frigerio was employed by
Franco Gaffuri Agenzia di Grafica, Milan, as a Graphic Designer.
In 1988 Ms. Frigerio joined PAOS, Inc. in Tokyo, Japan as a Graphic
Designer.
Ms. Frigerio joined Chermayeff & Geismar Inc. in August
1990, and practiced there until that firm closed in 2005.
She has designed graphic identities for the Rockefeller Foundation,
The McNay Art Museum, Integrated Living Communities, Marriott Rewards,
and the Index Corporation, as well as a new trademark for Tokyo's
popular Marubiru building and a comprehensive rebranding/repositioning
for the Hankyu Hotel Chain. She designed packaging programs for
Liz Claiborne's men's and women's fragrances and for IBM Multimedia.
She developed exhibit graphics standard manuals for Acquario di
Genova, Oceanario de Lisboa and the New Orleans Aquarium. She designed
the exhibition graphics for the Bobst Library at NYU and for several
exhibitions for the Library of Congress. She has been responsible
for corporate publications and promotional materials for JCDecaux,
Knoll, ESG, FactSet, US General Services Administration, the Rockefeller
Foundation, and Crane Papers.
She has designed books for Abrams, the Museum of Modern Art, the
American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), and the Chermayeff & Geismar
Inc. monograph, designing:, published by Graphis in 2003.
She has received design awards from the Italian Art Directors
Club, the American Art Directors Club, AIGA, SEGD and the GSA Design
Excellence Program, among others. Her work has been featured in
several publications, such as AIGA Graphic Design Annuals, the
Art Director's Club Annuals, Print, Communication
Arts, Graphis,
How magazine, and the PAOS Design
Book.
Emanuela Frigerio was born in Torino, Italy. She graduated from
the Polytechnic of Design in Milan, Italy in 1983.
