FDR Historic Site Visitor Center
Hyde Park, New York
Housed in a new facility of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) inspired by the architectural styles of the estate, the visitor center incorporates versatile displays, LED screens and artifacts centered around a custom mosaic tile floor, fabricated in Italy, based on a classic WPA-era mural. The project also incorporates an orientation theater and a bronze tableau of the President and Eleanor Roosevelt in a garden courtyard, posed carefully according to a historic photograph taken on the property.
