The Star-Spangled Banner
National Museum of American History
Smithsonian Institution
Washington, DC

A major new interactive exhibition showcasing the Star-Spangled Banner, the flag that inspired the national anthem, will be at the heart of the renovated and revitalized National Museum of American History. The 8,000 square foot experience will explore the history of one of the best-known American symbols. The banner has undergone an extensive conservation treatment and will be on view inside a state-of-the-art gallery in a dramatic presentation evoking "dawn's early light" to inspire many generations to come.

Designed by Jonathan Alger of C&G Partners in collaboration with Tom Geismar of Chermayeff & Geismar Studio.
