Designed for the Boston Public Library, Shakespeare Unauthorized made SEGD’s list of 10 most “laudable library-located” experiential graphic design projects of the past 10 years.
Commemorating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, the exhibit design evoked elements of stagecraft and bookbinding. Printed theatrical scrim with innovative projections were strategically arrayed so visitors could see one another as they move through exhibition and interactive kiosks allowed visitors to dive deeper. Read “10 years, 10 Laudable Library-Located EGD Projects,” to learn more about the project.
Although most visitors are familiar with Shakespeare, many of them may not interact with rare books. Our exhibit design aimed to help modern visitors engage with manuscripts through interactive elements, participatory experiences, and tech-driven media installations.
