Interactive motion graphic pieces designed to accompany the live orchestra and celebrate the musical and visual legacy of South America.
C&G Partners was invited to create visuals for Caminos del Inka, a concert program premiered by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Inspired by the Inca Trail, the pathways that went from Peru to Argentina, conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya conceived the program to celebrate the musical legacy of South America. The firm designed a series of interactive motion graphic pieces to accompany the live orchestra throughout the entire program. To accurately respond to the organic nature of live performances, many of the visuals were engineered as interactive sequences rather than preset videos. These sequences are performed to the conductor’s cues in real-time by an operator who thereby becomes a member of the orchestra for the evening. Photography by Fabiana Van Lente.
