Celebrating its 50th anniversary, this regional art museum embarked on an ambitious revision. The original museum, a majestic 19th Century Mansion, was expanded with a major new wing, designed by Jean-Paul Viguier, to host temporary and traveling exhibits, while the museum’s identity, print and wayfinding programs have been comprehensively redesigned. The new McNay identity uses a classical font, Minion, and a modern color palette accents the graphics and reproductions. The use of two bands throughout, from the membership brochure to the signage on the gates, creates an institutional consistency befitting its new slogan, Step into a Masterpiece.
