As the exhibit is located on an active NASA campus, it is visited both by the general public and by astrophysicists, astronomers and engineers who practice and study on-site. The client directed us to execute a bi-level interpretive system that could speak to both groups’ respective knowledge levels. The key was to do so in an intuitive way that minimizes graphic clutter and confusion. We accomplished this with a series of graphic templates that underscore the distinction through typography and color-coding while keying off the same central diagrams and illustrations.
