Teacher’s Legacy Hall

During construction of the new School of Education, professors found the new building lacking in history and spirit. Teacher’s Legacy Hall insures that North Carolina’s achievements in education can be recognized by the teachers of tomorrow. The installation includes a reproduced one-room schoolhouse, a school bus, and a dedicated trompe l’oeil screening room. A monumental bronze timeline celebrates North Carolina’s history of educational achievement, beginning outdoors, encompassing the cornerstone, and culminating inside the school with a video wall projecting current educational headlines. Inspirational quotes are engraved throughout the architecture.
